福音館書店は児童書の出版社です。1956年創刊の月刊誌「こどものとも」を筆頭に、現在月刊誌7誌を出しています。毎号一つの物語に一人の画家が全場面を通して絵をつける、ペーパーバック版の月刊物語絵本です。私たちは、絵本は「子どもに読ませる本ではなく、大人が読んで聞かせる本」だと考え、当代一流の著者・画家が、子どもたちに向けて全力を注いでつくる「大人も子どももいっしょに感動できる絵本」を作ってきました。また、月刊絵本だけでなく、多くの創作絵本や創作童話も刊行しています。
