KOYOSHOBO Co., Ltd. was founded in Kyoto in 1960. Initially specializing in university textbooks and foreign translation, over time it shifted focus to philosophy books. It has since published academic and general education books across the humanities and social sciences, including politics, economics, management, society, and education and welfare. As well as translations introducing the foremost overseas academic trends, Koyoshobo has recently published award-winning research works on Japanese society, foregrounding young researchers with new perspectives. Total publications exceed 3,600, with about 150 publications released per year. Koyoshobo’s future aim is for as wide a possible translation and publication of its works in countries all around the world.

晃洋書房は京都で設立され、本年創業65周年を迎えました。当初は大学の教科書や海外の翻訳書が中心でしたが、徐々に哲学書に力を入れ「哲学書の晃洋書房」として広く知られるようになりました。その後政治、経済、経営、社会、教育・福祉など人文・社会科学分野全般にわたって学術書・一般教養書を出版しています。近年は海外の優れた学術動向を紹介する翻訳書以外にも日本社会の動向を踏まえた研究書出版にも尽力しています。特に若手研究者の研究に注目してフィールド調査と量的研究・質的研究を踏まえた質の高い研究を積極的に出版し、その書籍は学会賞の受賞、学会誌の書評などで評価されています。累計出版点数は3,600点を超え、近年の年間出版点数は約150点です。今後は当社の出版物が広く世界各国で翻訳出版されることも視野に入れて活動していきます。
